This literally irks me to no end. I'm sick and tired of this game of Big Brother Knows Best.

Do you think they would have cared about something like this 150 or even 100 years ago? What's changed? Why are we such wusses these days.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

This kills me. The same with the raw milk they spent so much time going after. We need to tell the government to piss off and remind them who is really in charge.

Wow! That's shameful. Once again our maze of laws trumps common sense. Nice of the other organizations to make up the food difference. You would think someone somewhere would be aware that the group wasn't recognized in Louisiana and couldn't accept their food- sounds like an item for the master list.

A similar thing has happened around here. When churches or organizations have left over food from events it can't be donated to shelters because of "health concerns".

"The department released a statement that said a complaint was lodged against the mission for using deer meat last month."

So, who was the person who filed the complaint? Some PETA member? A thankless homeless person? Somebody was a real parade-rainer. And all that good meat, tossed in a dumpster with BLEACH poured over it. Not even the animals can eat it. Stupid, wasteful, and spiteful.

They should publish the NAMES of the complainant and the bureaucrat that made the decision to destroy the meat. Then publish the entire chain of command that approved the act.

One would think that people on the tax payroll would have better things to do besides rescuing us from eating deer meat and drinking raw milk.

When I lived in Alaska, all the road kill moose fed the inmates in the prison. Heck, they ate better than I did.
