My own son is an 'anti''

    Yup.

It was a cold miserable day last Saturday, so I took whec jr. out to a couple LGS's. I like taking him along because he really does know gun trivia better than I do. I can grab anything off the wall and he can quote specs and anecdotal feedback that he vacuums off the web and somehow retains.

Well, I was handling a Remington R1 with a $649 price tag, and was honestly struggling with not throwing my VISA on the counter top. However, self-discipline prevailed and we walked out. When we got in the car, he said IT. In my own horror, I heard the words come out of his mouth in slow motion; "Pop, you really don't need another 1911".

That poor boy had to endure 10 solid minutes of the ride home, while I compared him to Joe Biden . I actually had to let up on him, he was getting so upset.

    I love torturing my kid.

I guess he didn't think that he might inherit it one day?

Need to teach that boy some long term thinking.

He might have saved you some trouble. I haven't heard very good reports of the R1 from any of my local shops.

This is the reason parents should have abortion rights until their children turn 18 years old!

Then the children should have a mandatory two years in the armed services! All Sexes should have the requirement!

Also note none of this Peace Corps crap either, real military service!

I think he was right with the "need another 1911." Now if had been "need 'a' 1911" he'd need that serious talking to.

I would have made a 180 got back in the store and bought it! Then I would make him pay for lunch!

Do you really need another one?
spend more fighting Ebola than on Thanksgiving dinner. Be grateful it's being fought there, so we don't have to fight it here.

As well, there are millions in potential patents possible for those with a tool shed, ideas, or creative loved ones to tell.. (and gumption) It's an untapped technology.

Really? The first models had some machining issues on the slides and feeding problems, but I hear that's all been worked out?

Maybe when he said you don't need another 1911, he really meant he saw something else that he would rather you buy and hand down to him later? One can hope. Anyway, I have a hard time believing your son could be a true anti if he is as well versed in gun trivia/facts as you say. Most of the antis I know avoid factual gun information like it's the plague.
