    Went to the zoo today

My 15 yo grandson claimed he had never been to a zoo. That isn't true because I took him when he was in a stroller, but of course he doesn't remember.
Anyway, we got some awesome photos and he posted them here: Memphis Zoo - Imgur

Come to Florida. Everywhere is a zoo here.

I felt sorry for the penguins and polar bears. After all it is Memphis and it is going to be HOT this summer.

Just come to my house, no need to actually go to the zoo.

    Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing.

You took some really good pictures! Beautiful animals! I love the one of the Panda eating the bamboo and the monkey in the tree drinking from a sports bottle!

I bet it was a fun day and your grandson will remember this trip to the zoo. You're lucky you were able to get a 15 year old to go!

I used to work in a zoo. My (grownup) kids were lucky enough to be able to brush and hand-feed some of the big cats. There was a technique that was relatively safe. I did it many times.

ex memphian here. I was raised in the Mclean/Jackson area in the 50s-60s. The zoo used to be free, there was an entrance on North Parkway right across the street from Snowden school. We used to walk around the zoo everyday after school. Thanks for sharing your wonderful pics and making me homesick!
