Saw this story and video and thought it would be fun hear the comments... to be honest I am not sure how thankful I am and/or how concerned I am about this monitoring.

FL DOT officers carry radiation detectors for checking trucks when stopped. They are so sensitive that if you're had a nuclear medical treatment (such as a scan) it will set them off.

Wow, they stopped the right train and captured the right guy without a shot fired. What an accomplishment. Oh, it wasn't a SWAT team! Poor reading comprehension on my part.

There wasn't a conspiracy mentioned in the story.. that is where "theorists" comes in.. people develop theories based on information at hand, and often based on information imagined or created in their minds.

When I posted this, I was (and still am) curious about how they picked up the radiation as he was getting on the mass transportation and how they responded so quickly.

LOL. So they detect a radiation threat, search the train and then ask why am I getting a reading on your bag?

If the threat had been real they would have found out quickly once the heard the click and the white light. It is good to know they did not overreact.

It's a sheet of paper in Washington State. I'm supposed to carry mine another two days. The tech mentioned I might get stopped on the street, or boarding some mass transits, or even at the door of some stores or malls.

Glad of it, too. I have a radiation burn that is going to give me trouble for a few more years, and really don't want another.

I see a reak conflict here with medical privacy. Not everyone cares to admit they have had a nuclear scan. Medical privacy laws exisst for a reason. Realistically, does a nuclear device give off the same radiation as a patient?

Dirty bombs can be made out of medical nuclear material, hence the same radiation can be emitted.
