A lady here at work was talking about when she used to work at the local Dog Track.
I think she took money for bets.
She said some people would take off a shoe - sock and pull money out to give her for bets.
The money was DAMP from body sweat and she took it by the corner (as little as she could get away with touching).
Also - sometimes they'd reach in their bra - sometimes inside their pants & DAMP!
We told her she should have worn rubber gloves. Better yet for her was leaving that job altogether.
What brought it up was talking about using hand sanitizer often to avoid germs and then we talked about how dirty money was - that's when she came out with her story.

I remember hearing a news story somewhere that 90% of all bills that are in circulation have detectable levels of illegal drugs on them. I don't know what level is detectable . If you think about how many different hands a single bill goes through it is probably staggering.

I frequently wonder where the heck bills have been!
I got the tattiest $1 this morning I have ever seen - if I'd coughed at it, it would have disintegrated. Moved that on fast!
They say it is possible to detect traces of cocain, and other ''stuff'' on many bills. Many I am sure are far from hygenic!
As for what you described - yuk!

All I can say is never look at money under a high powered microscope and don't have one analyzed in a lab.
If you do, then be prepared to never handle money again

Yuck!! Money is one of the dirtiest things you can handle. I used to work at a waste water plant (sewer plant) and we'd find money all the time. Rinse it and spend it. If you only knew where your money has been.

This makes me feel much better about using my debit card!!

Even your credit card is not safe, Sonic. Think about all the people you hand that card to and what they have been doing with those hands since thy last washed them.....

Stick To Credit Cards & Checks...
I can't begin to imagine where so many 'bills' have been...Oh, wait a minute, I can imagine...Oh, yuck!

On Buckeye games days the bar I work at is cash only, and inevitably people wind up dropping money on the ground during the day, and during clean-up there is always competition to see who can find the most. Keep in mind we call 5000 people through our doors on a gameday slow. I've seen near fistfights for a 20 thats covered in all the tobacco spit, beer (trash cans fill up quick) and lord knows whatever other fluids are on our floor. But college kids always need more money, no matter where it has been

+1!!!! That is pretty gross. I don't think I would have handled the money without rubber gloves myself.

Back when I used to work the cash register at my dad's hardware store, I would get handed all sorts of icky money. There's nothing like a sweaty, smelly plumber dropping his nasty, stained coveralls right on front of you just to get to a few loose bucks in his pants pocket under them, and then watching him squeegee the dollar on front of you.
