Somewhere along the way some Americans have mistaken "independence" for "self-centeredness!" The "everyone is unique" and "everyone gets a trophy" mentality has perpetuated a new breed that honestly believes, "IT'S ALL ABOUT ME, ME, ME!!! Don't believe it? Look around on the roads and in the supermarkets! There are many who genuinely think they are THE ONLY ones that exist in this world! Go in a restaurant and watch people! Party of six go out to dinner together and they're ALL on the smart phones! What happened to good old fashioned concern and compassion for your fellow human beings?

In a time in which we've recently had a naked Miami face-eating zombie, and a psycho that shoots kids in the face, there's not much left that will surprise me. Digust yes, but not surprise.

Respectfully, I think it's more complicated than that. I graduated from high school in the 60's. They were turbulent times to be sure, but nothing like what I'm seeing today. People are just nuts. I just watched a lady hold up twelve people in a convenience store because (she claimed) the gas pump started on a dollar instead of zero. She wanted the manager's name, the last time the state certified the pumps, the number of the home office.

"Here lady. I have a spare buck. Get on with your life."

    It's just nutty.

Nah, I just think that's when we started paying attention! Think about it, much of what the counter-culture was saying back then sounds exactly like what I see on these boards on a day to day basis! FEAR YOUR GOVERNMENT!!! Truthfully, I think it was the McCarthy era and hysteria (much like we're seeing today) that allowed politicians to make it illegal to conspire to overthrow the government. Now DC has carte blanche as they know they can't be touched! Our Founding Fathers would be disgusted that we've traded the enlightenment ideals for which they fought and died, for self-entitlement and a hand out!

So you think you're crazy? Let me show you crazy.

The 20-year-old student accused of a stabbing spree at a Texas college Tuesday told police he fantasized about cannibalism and cutting off faces and wearing them as masks, court documents show.

People are just goofy, crazy nuts, and you don't know where the next little fruitcake is going to turn up. That's why I carry.

I don't understand the hand-wringing over incidents like this. We live in a country with over 300 million people and 24/7 news coverage. These incidents make the news not because they are common, but because they are rare. We act as if bizarre and horrific incidents like this are something new. They aren't, we're just more likely to hear about them today. Do we really need to try hard to come up with things that were really horrible about life in the U.S. prior to the 60s?

Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.

I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

America...a Constitutional Republic. NOT a democracy as the liberals would have us believe.
