    Holy Smokes! Respect Nature.

VIDEO: Beaver attacks and kills man | fox4kc.com

A beaver took exception to being approached and filmed and he attacked the guy, bit him, and ended up severing an artery. The unlucky victim bled to death...

Normally I don't post random news stuff but this should really be a reminder that animals aren't predictable, and even ones that you wouldn't necessarily think dangerous, can cause severe injuries or death.

If you aren't hunting them, keep your distance and leave 'em alone!

FWIW, the video attached to the article doesn't show anything gruesome, so don't watch it expecting to see a remake of the Monty Python rabbit scene.

I am dumbfounded by that statement.

Maybe the guy was wearing a beaver felt hat, and the angry beaver was just trying to avenge a loved ones death.

An excerpt from Beaver Times Daily seems to support your conclusion. It quotes the beaver, he says:
"There I was just minding my own business and trying to improve the dam. I was chewing a log when all of a sudden this guy shows up with a camera and HE'S WEARING MY COUSIN STEVE ON HIS HEAD! I mean Steve and I weren't always on good terms but he was family. Family being family, I did what I had to do."

Never thought I would have to watch out for attacking beaver. I guess I'll be taking a gun with me when I go out on my raft now in the river. mine as well be on the look out for porcupines and other little rodents.
