Funny story about him and the song "He stopped loving her today". My wife and I were a trucking team for years. I am not a big fan of country music but she is. She was playing a a tape (that's a cassette for all you young whipper snappers) with that song on it. I guess she had never really listened to the words. I was sitting in the jump seat and was singing along. She looked at me with this incredulous look on her face and said, "OH, he died".

I guess all the times she had heard that song, she never got it before hearing me sing it. RIP George.

In our new house where I lived from the time I was in 3rd grade Country Western Music was on the radio from early morning to near bedtime. I grew up with George Jones singing in my head. He'll be sorely missed.

They say that every time we lose a good man, another eventually takes his place. Thus far I haven't found this to be true. Either I'm getting older and therefor more stubborn, (i'm 33) or people just suck in general. At least we still have Clint Eastwood!

There's a couple of his songs that I have no idea how he could sing them without getting choked up. I mean, Flowers For Mama? Why? Why you wanna do that to me George?

And there sure won't be a voice like his for a long time, if ever. RIP George

Don't forget, George liked a little taste every now and then.
