What is your other hobbies other than Firearms

Does anyone else have a significant hobby other than firearms?

For me other than making guns and ammo, I'm a web application programmer, web designer, and a computer system designer. With a degree in Computer Science. After completing college instead of enlisting as a computer specialist in the US Army, I enlisted as a 11B infantrymen, and never regretted it best times of my life.

Fishing and golf. I don't play golf near as much as I used to but I keep a rod or two and a tackle box in the back of my truck at all times.

I've really slowed down in the last 4 1/2 years since I retired. My greatest joy since around Spring of 1988 has been tent camping first at Mountainman Rendezvous and June 1990 or 91 Barter Faires. I rondied for the tradin' and wheelin' & dealin', the comaraderie & Apple Pie recipe swappin', the grub & music and the bodacious Road Trips to Idaho and Montana.

Barter Faires are the cats meow. The Absolute Best Barter Faires I ever got to were put on by Gypsie and Pulani out of Northport WA. I left the Hog Heaven Rondy (Troy Idaho) 3 days early at Pawnee's insistence. I never looked back. In 2002 the last Northport BF was held. I made it. In 2003 I went to my 2nd Tonasket Barter Faire. The Tonasket crowd puts on a fairly decent BF but in MHO they'ed never hold a candle to G&P's Faires. Last Tonasket I made was 2008. Best way to describe a BF is this: Imagine a mini Woodstock 3 to 5 days long and 1000 to 10,000 folks camped out. Trading-Dancing-Music-Drum Circles 24/7...Organic produce-Cider pressed as you watch the guy doing it-hardware-beads-foofoo-incense-antiques-furs & leather-tools-firewood $5 a wheelbarrow load delivered to your camp-Grateful Dead-Celtic-Native American flute-Metallica-Steppenwolf-Hank Sr/Jr-Bluegrass-Harpsichord-Mozart-Gospel-Motown-Johnny Cash....if you've heard it somewhere else you'd hear it sometime over 3-5 days at Barter Faire. Buku Live Jammin' about every 100 feet. Basically everything you'd find in a store or Farmers Market/Craft Bazaar you'll see it at Barter Faire.

Shining Times I'm here to tell ya.Some of the Best Times of My LIFE were at Barter Faire!!!!! I ship you Not. Dang!! it's 0308 here.
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.

You guys do stuff that doesn't revolve around guns?

Seriously, after thinking for a few minutes, I need to get into a hobby that doesn't involve firearms.

I used to do a lot of Stained Glass work but haven't made anything in a few years. I really should get back to it again.

I also love to read and garden (nothing major, mostly flowers and landscaping).

Archery hunting and photography (sports, portrait, wildlife, landscape). But I usually have a sidearm on me when archery hunting and lately I've been photographing guns. So I guess they find their way into my other hobbies.

At the Barter Faires the Hippies don't like guns OR pretty much anything Army Surplus. If you got a gun or 2 to sell they just don't wanna see it. A couple times at BF this big GI Surplus trader w/a HUGE Field Kitchen sized OD Army Tent showed up. He was the only Surplus outfit! He did a Booming Biz... Yehaaaaa

Rendezvous was 10,000 OUR WAY. A big Rondy you'd see Napoleon 12 pounders, Cohen Mortars and every manner of Hawken Rifles from 54cal down to 45cals. Kentucky Rifles, Trade guns (Flinters), pistols, Navy Dragoons, pepper boxes, 45cal cannons everthang under the sun!!! And Teepees EVERYWHERE!! Shining Times I'm here to tell you!!! Wall Tents, Bakers, Wedges, Lean Too's, Miners Tents too.

Hunting went away when I moved to Florida, replaced it with fishing but physical issues forced me to give up the boat so I got back into shooting some. Did some writing for a while, ended up with three novels. Reloading is my "therapy" time now. That's one reason I stick with a single stage press. Slow and easy...

Cycling. I race about 50 times/year and train over 8,000 miles/year. I get to travel with family/friends/team all over the Midwest. Helps me clear my mind, relieve stress and stay fit.
