    Staples chain not 2A friendly

Over the last 15 years I have spent many thousands of dollars at my local Staples, due to their prices, and easy return policies. This just ended with their notification to a business in Nebraska that they could not enter a contest because they sell guns. Here is the text of my letter to Staples.

    30 May 2013

Mr. Ronald L. Sargent - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
    Staples, Inc.
    Five Hundred Staples Drive
    Framingham, MA 01702

    Dear Mr. Sargent:

It has recently come to my attention that Staples has taken a position that equates legal firearms businesses with hate groups and illegal drug dealers – see the enclosed web page.

Staples has been my preferred office supply vendor for several years. In the last 3.5 years, I have spent $5,548.72 at Staples for personal use items and have directed corporate purchase to Staples as well. Because of the position that Staples has taken regarding legal activities in the firearms industry, our relationship has come to an end. To commemorate this, I have enclosed my Staples Reward Card. Please delete my account from your systems.

I realize that my purchases will not, in the big picture, be missed at Staples. I am, however, a participant in two on-line firearms forums, DefensiveCarry.com, that has roughly 70,000 members and Ohioans for Concealed Carry for which I do not know the number of participants. I was made aware of Staples’ position based on another member’s posting on one of these forums. It has also been cross posted to the other forum.

I suspect that mine will not be the only letter you receive. For each letter or e-mail you receive, there will likely be several additional members who choose to cease shopping at Staples.

While it is not my intent to harm Staples, I will not patronize an establishment that discriminates against legal activities and chooses to equate them with hate groups and illegal drug dealers. Should the position of Staples change vis--vis legal businesses, please let me know and I will likely resume our relationship.

    Sincerely,

    Great letter.

Stupid Staples.... I hope it costs them, noticeably.

    They've lost my bidness.

Yeah, I got tapatalk, too. So what?
    Rats!
    It could be worse!
    I suppose

Actually, I hope they get inundated with letters and the CEO either has a change of heart or gets on top of a situation of which he was unaware. I personally like Staples. I would rather see them fix this than get hurt. If they don't fix it, however, I am done with them.

Crossing Staples off my list. Darn it, I wish these businesses would just shut up and sing. It's like Hollywood, I'm down to a handful of actors that I will watch because their politics have ruined it for me.

Not giving my money to any anti-2A stores when there are plenty of others to pick from.

KS...that was a good letter. I may have to blatantly plagiarize it.
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
