It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
good for him!
"In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king."
Poor kid. I don't know why that choked me up, because everything in me told me I should have been laughing at him...
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Always good to have a Plan B. Job well done, young man!

My guess is that that young man is a Boy Scout... ordinary humans merely put their hand over their hearts... Military (current and retired) should salute. the Boy Scout salute is reserved one to another... Full salutes are expected when facing the flag for the anthem.
It could be worse!
Awesome. That young man has more bearing and demonstrable common sense than all of Congress!
I'd like to shake his hand.

Give me Liberty or give me BACON!!!
You know that look women give you when they want some sugar? Me neither
I've seen my share of those mishaps in my line of work. The kids always get that deer in the headlights look, but he did a great job recovering. My favorite mishap was when a student actually inverted one of his cymbals.
I'm still laughing.
Hoo Rah. Nice recovery. +100
We have different gifts, each according to the grace God has given to each of us.
That is about the best thing he could have done without MacGuyver handy. Way to go kid!

I love this video. This kid was on his game for sure.
I play the drums, have since I got out of high school in 1974 so I know what it is like when your equipment fails during a song. He found the answer, standing and saluting our flag during the National Anthem. Quick thinking and honour is what this kid is all about when his cymbals failed.
I don't like the laughing smirk on the young lady beating the Ludwig bass drum. Would have loved to see what would have happened should her strap break and the huge instrument went crashing to the floor. My bet is that she would have burst into tears and fled the scene.
Kudos to the Cymbal Kid.
