Not sure how many of you have heard this but something pretty sinister is occurring here in WI. The Sherrif of Milwaukee County is a popular Elected official who recieved 74% of the vote for his re-election, last time was 73%. Dispite this fact the MJS has done nothing but harass him with articles & hand selected letters that show him in a negative light, mostly due to his stance on civil liberties & the relationship between law enforcement & you in terms of what your rights to self defense are. As a result he is being attacked so as to silence his rational & realistic perspective.

Please help us flood the county boards phone lines today In support of Sherriff Clarke and his support for our Rights and Liberties.

The Milwaukee journal has been against the civil liberty supporting Sherriff since first elected, with 64% of popular vote back in 2002, by using their rag as a pulpit.

Here is an article on this very subject:

Gun Owners of America
Pro-gun Sheriff David Clarke Under Attack
Tell the Board of Supervisors to stick it!

If you’ve heard the name David Clarke, you know that he is one of the most pro-gun sheriffs in the country.

In fact, earlier this month, GOA Executive Director Larry Pratt personally awarded the “High Noon Award” to Wisconsin’s Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr., for “standing for truth when others run, for telling the truth even though politically incorrect.”

In a public safety announcement earlier this year, Sheriff Clarke told viewers:* “With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed or you can fight back. But are you prepared?”

The ad ends with Clarke stating, “You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We're partners now. Can I count on you?”

But now, the Milwaukee Board of Supervisors is discriminating against Sheriff Clarke and punishing him for his pro-gun views.

Wisconsin Carry, Inc. has correctly described the situation as follows:

In what can only be taken as discrimination against the 2nd amendment and the right to self-defense, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors has introduced, and passed out of committee, an ordinance that would prohibit Sheriff Clarke from appearing in any future public service announcements....

It is notable that the Board of Supervisors never felt compelled to silence Sheriff Clarke when, in the interest of public safety, he made radio advertisements about drunk-driving or distracted driving. Now that he dared speak in support of our right to self-defense, he has come under attack and some on the County Board are trying to silence him.

While the committee resolution to silence Clarke narrowly passed on a close 4-3 vote, it now goes to the FULL County Board on Thursday, June 20.

It’s time to stand up and be counted.* Please take the action below.

ACTION:* Even if you do not live in Milwaukee County, please contact the Milwaukee Board of Supervisors before their scheduled vote on Thursday and tell them to vote AGAINST the resolution that would prohibit Sheriff David Clarke from appearing in public service announcements.*

Please distribute this to all your pro-gun family and friends in the Badger State!

CONTACT INFORMATION:* You can use the pre-written letter below to help direct your comments to the Board of Supervisors.* And you can get email and phone information for each member of the Board of Supervisors at:* County Board of Supervisors

----- Pre-written letter to Board of Supervisors -----

Dear Supervisor:

I am very disappointed that a committee made up of seven supervisors voted to restrict Sheriff David Clarke from appearing in any future public service announcements.

I agree with Gun Owners of America and Wisconsin Carry, Inc. that this move can only be interpreted as a clear attempt to discriminate against Clarke’s Second Amendment views and his commitment to encouraging residents to protect themselves.

Sheriff Clarke is absolutely correct to take this position.* Based on statistics from a Clinton Justice Department study, we know that guns are used 50 times more often to save life than to take life.

I understand that the full Board must vote on this resolution.* I hope that you will vote AGAINST it and allow Sheriff Clarke to continue expressing his views in protecting the public.

Again please help us here in WI to bombard the Board Of Directors for Milwaukee County with support for a Sherriff who is supoorting us.
