The Mount Rushmore of Gun History

I just saw this topic on Pro Football Talk where they discussed who they think should be on the Mount Rushmore of the AFC and the NFC. The "experts" were choosing from players, coaches, and management/owners. It got me thinking about who would be on my/your Mount Rushmore of influential people in the firearms community. I'll throw mine out there...now don't crack on me too bad since I am n00b to the shooting world within the last year and a half or so, but as I see it...

    1. Samuel Colt
    2. John Browning
    3. William Church/George Wingate - NRA founders
and (a wee bit off the board here just to be different)
    4. Charlton Heston

Ask me again in 5 minutes and I could change my mind...but that's my Mt. Rushmore for now. No googling...just off the top of your head. Who is on yours?

A stove has too many straight lines, that would be hard work carving into a mountain!

My vote goes to Obama (for the first time) since he has proven to be one of the best firearm salesmen of all time.

Colt, Browning, Kalishnikov, and Stoner on the front, and Barack on the backside.

It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

With all of the libs pushing for Barak Obama to be on Rushmore, I pose a question.. What will be the 5th gun???

I decided to go with people influential in the development of the guns that I own/have had the joy to use in the military as opposed to overall historica significance in the firearms community.

You would serve well on that carving...I don't know you, but as an E-8, Leadership is a requirement, and that is good enough for me..

    Thanks for your service.

I think we're going to need a bigger mountain.
