    Favorite Hymns Growing Up

Don't quite know how some of y'all might take this. Talking to the owner of Defensive Carry here mainly and the rest of y'all in the choir. (pun intended)

I ain't preachin' here. I grew up in an old fashioned kinda family. We went to church. All my kin did and still do. This ain't about church so much as the music. I grew up singing the old hymns. I learned all the little kid Sunday School songs. Went to Bible Camp from the time I was 11 or 12 years old every summer till I was outta high school.

Learned that awful Kumbaya song too in the 1970s. By my mid thirties I'd been to Plymouth Brethern, Gospel Fellowship, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian and Lutheran churches and a cult or 2.

I like to SING!! Who else likes To SING?? Traditional country, Pipes it's all good.

Don't beat me up too bad, I ain't no saint.

It is Well with My soul, There is power in the Blood, When the roll is called up Yonder... shall I go on? O.K... Are You washed in the Blood, When we all get to Heaven, Shall we gather at the River, I could go on and on with this. I got a lot of them. Of course we must have Amazing Grace as Patti said. And I do love How great thou art as well.

Everything you said, and I'll add Sweet Sweet Spirit, and In The Garden! And most songs from the Broadman Hymnal, the old shape note songs have the best harmony.

I'm 31 years old but just heard "This is My Father's World" for the first time this year shortly after our new praise leader was hired. I love God and I love nature so it naturally went immediately to the top of my list. Beautiful song!

I'll Fly Away. My favorite by a mile.

I like "Will the Circle be Unbroken" too. You can see me performing this one, the A.P. Carter version with some of my buds on the Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa6FZWDGxRA
