Smile Thanksgiving week for a gun nut family.

Well, I guess we started last weekend with a Church social for my Mom & Dad's Sunday school class. A lot of folks from the church came out to their place and we let them shoot some clays in the pasture. Quite a few teenagers were there who had never shot before and after a safety lesson they all enjoyed it and did suprisingly well.

Dad and I went quail hunting yesterday and I went by myself this morning. Bagged a few birds and got some great dog work.

This afternoon, we had family and some of our hunting buddies families out for thanksgiving and we shot handguns before the big meal and clays afterward.

My wife got some good shooting in and fired about 50 or 60 rounds from our primary HD weapon, which is a stainless Ruger Security Six. I finally got her to get over the size and relinquish her snubby for the Ruger. It has a 6" barrel so she didn't like it at first but now she does. Her snubby wasn't +P rated so I wanted to upgrade her to 38spl 135 gr Gold Dot HP. .357 is too much for her.

She then shot 9 out of ten with my 20 ga sxs on clays. I was pretty proud as that score beat everyone there except my cousin who also shot 9 for 10. Of course I shot only 8 for 10.

The my 6yr old got some BB gun practice.

That's how my family does Thanksgiving and usually Easter too.

Just thought I'd share. I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and wish all you folks many happy holidays ahead

Not today...too much food and football.

Tomorrow will be a different story...

Sounds like a good day! Wanna adopt me into the family?

I should be heading for the range tomorrow.

Sounds real good Sgt - can't compete! Some good smiles on faces I'll bet after the shooting

Spent much of today working on a website conversion - but - chances are two coming days with reasonable temps and sun will see me out flying my RC planes. Maybe too sneek a chance at popping some caps.
