Oh yeah, it's true, what I meant though is that the actual fingerprinting is BS. No crime has ever been solved with it IIRC because it doesn't actually work like in the movies.

yeah we have fingerprinting in NYS...do a search on COBIS (COmbined Ballistic Identification System) if you are interested. Ballistic testing for all new handguns sold. Some interesting stats as of 10/1 if you are interested...

of the "hits" one was for a misdemeanor and took 4 years to get the hit...the statute of limitations had expired. the other hit was from someone who claims their gun was stolen and the officers on this investigation described it as a "weak" case.
