Are you speaking of the Band of Brothers Pacific War? If so I have the entire series. Personally I enjoyed the original ETO series much better.

The Pacific War was different in so many ways from that in Europe. Fighting was grittier and costlier for the troops. I found it difficult to watch at times.
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.

I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

The difference between fighting disciplined, professional soldiers and zealots. The Japanese view was that they were fighting for their living God. That fanaticism inspired acts that would be unthinkable to other armies (i.e. Kamikaze attacks, Bonzai charges, and other forms of Gyokusai)

Anyhoo, back on topic. I haven't gotten to watch The Pacific yet, but it's in my queue.

Very good. The terrible S Pac jungle conditions go on and on at times. But, watch it for sure. No brainer. I think I am going to watch it again. I can hint at three scenes to watch closely without giving them away if you want. Two of them get to me every time.

While BoB showed a more brotherhood story, Pacific was much better at showing the horror of fighting in the Pacific and the personal stories of the characters. Which is better? Coin toss. Depends on what you're looking for. I enjoy watching both, and I don't know why Pacific doesn't get more air time.

I have both of them and like OV said they tell different tales.

The Pacific was a much harsher war and much more brutal. The only thing that compares is the Eastern Front with the Soviets vs Nazi's

That will happen when you throw wave after wave of sick, starving, half-frozen, barely-armed soldiers at an entrenched enemy...

    The Pacific is AWESOME.

And it's quite tear jerking in many parts, too.

No. I'm speaking of the one I mentioned, the one in the link provided. It's different than the Band Of Brothers film.

It's a good series. I would recommend, however, before you watch it, to read these two books, upon which the series is based:

Helmet for My Pillow: From Parris Island to the Pacific: Robert Leckie: 9780553593310: Amazon.com: Books and
With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa: E.B. Sledge: 9780891419198: Amazon.com: Books

Both are very good, but for some reason Sledge's book really resonated with me.
