FAA says, “Do not shoot down drones”.

FAA warns public against shooting guns at drones

WASHINGTON (AP) — People who fire guns at drones are endangering the public and property and could be prosecuted or fined, the Federal Aviation Administration warned Friday.

The FAA released a statement in response to questions about an ordinance under consideration in the tiny farming community of Deer Trail, Colo., that would encourage hunters to shoot down drones. The administration reminded the public that it regulates the nation's airspace, including the airspace over cities and towns.

A drone "hit by gunfire could crash, causing damage to persons or property on the ground, or it could collide with other objects in the air," the statement said. "Shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in criminal or civil liability, just as would firing at a manned airplane."

If they are down low just use a shotgun and birdshot. Course if they are up high just use an AR-15 because jesse jackson says they are capable of bringing down a 747 after all.

The easiest way to avoid a drone crash causing damage to "persons or property" is to keep them out of our skies in the first place. Stop spying on American citizens. It's that simple.

I plan to stand on my front porch and fire off two or three shotgun shells. If something falls out of the sky, well...

Does this mean I SHOULDN'T buy the 40mm AA gun I've been eyeing? I'd hate to buy it and then not be able to use it for a practical purpose.

I don't think I'd fire inside of city limits, but If I see one of those things while I'm hunting on my deer lease its open game.

Just my luck. My 2013 drone stamp ain't good no more. It was a "no limit" stamp too. Good all year. Seems the feds can come up with enough cash to investigate drone "molesting". But they can't keep our southern borders defended against intruders.

Any directional-EMP machines on the market? Might make a good stocking stuffer, for all the preppers on your list.

Takes me back to the SAFDS range at Ft Stewart.Lots of people nicked those styro and balsa radio controlled planes but they were tough to bring down.iIt was a M60 team from the gun line that hit the one on my interation ......right in the fuel line.
