I remember when everything cost a nickle. And we ate dirt... and we were THANKFUL for the dirt!

Oh wait, I was channeling my Grandpa.

I remember when I was in the Army and we could go to the PX and get cigs for .30/pack. But we would go across the border to Juarez and get them for .20/pack and buy a bottle of "fine" Mexican tequila for $1.00. So for $3, you were set for the week.

    Cool

I remember Three Musketeer bars for a nickel each. Milk at school was .03 a carton so it took me 2 days without milk to buy one candy bar.

I wore Patrol Boots in the winter. Made of tanned leather Mom always told me not to walk in/splash in puddles. So I didn't. Walking in ditches in the rain was way more fun!! My boots were waterproof.

Ten dollars of groceries would feed 4 people for a week. Mom brought home cookies, Ho Ho's, donuts and cup cakes while Dad brought us day old potato chips, pickles, Frito's and the like.

BAZOOKA JOE Double Bubble Bubble Gum. About 1 1/4" by 1 3/4" and 1/2" thick. It was pink. There was a teeny weeny comic strip inside. One penny each

I remember when the mail was delivered twice a day...10:00am and 3:00pm

The Fuller Brush man, vacuum salesmen, house calls by the family doctor, Charles Chips deliveries in that big tin can, all the things you'd get shot for nowadays.
