Forum Topics I Would Like To See

Given the frequency with which certain sentiments get repeatedly posted, perhaps some of them might merit their own forums. Here are a few I would like to see:

People like that make us all look bad.
We aren't law enforcement. Call 9-1-1 and be a good witness.
Training and mindset are irrelevant. You never know how you will react unless you have actually been in that situation.
If I need more than ________ rounds, I'm going to be dead, anyway. Shot placement is everything.
We shouldn't say things like that, as it will make the fence-sitters decide against us.

I'd like to see a forum titled:

    I'd like to see:

To make a decision on which gun is right for you, you should go rent and shoot as many as possible
.....even when the OP asks for opinions.

I think the only one that merits an entirely new sub-forum would be "People That Make Us All Look Bad". The rest are just commonly used phrases, not really topics that can be consistently discussed.

Forum topic: Is a quadruple stack, 100 round, fully automatic, 3" barrel .22 rimfire really better than a Glock or 1911?

What to say to the police sub-forum....
    a) I want to speak to an attorney;
    b) I was in fear for my life, I want to press charges, I need to go to a hospital, and the relevant evidence is there, there, and there; or
    c) You like that? That there is called a Mozambique. Pretty cool, huh?

I'd like to see the G Rating here bumped up more in keeping with a truly Free Speech Site or at least a PG Rating.

That way those of us that don't live in the Land of Oz could express ourselves in a manner more in keeping with rough men.
I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

The problem with allowing speech that is "more in keeping with rough men" is that it often leads to the same speech being used derogatorily towards other members of the forum.

There isn't a total ban on foul language on this forum, though. IIRC from a thread in which this very thing was discussed with moderators and admin, certain words are allowed in certain contexts. For instance (please forgive me Mods), "ass" is allowed, as long as you're not calling someone an "ass". Damn is generally allowed, but certainly not G_d-damn. Hell is usually not a problem, either, I believe. Normally language workarounds aren't allowed, but it has been said a number of times by Mod or admin that SHTF is okay because it won't really matter once it hits the fan.

But other words, such as S*** in any other context besides SHTF is not allowed. B**** isn't allowed, either. Unless you're on a dog-breeding forum, that word is never used in any way other than derogatorily. The "F bomb" is never allowed either. These words really aren't necessary at all in polite conversation. There are plenty of ways to express one's self without resorting to foul language.

But hey, I understand your sentiment. As a former Marine, believe me, I understand.

I'd like to see a "Tell me what gun to buy" forum, so I could skip it and never go there.

"The best carry caliber" forum would be a nice one to avoid too.
