I really don't give critters enough credit

Most of us love our dogs and cats, and marvel over how not only intelligent (or stupid), but caring and fun that they can be.

I suspect that wild critters aren't that much different (just more dangerous). Here's a cool video:

Amazing! I'm sure the seal thought the photographer was the stupid one.

    That is totally unexpected!

I disagree... the seal thought he was a seal. I've never confused something else for being my species before (well, not sober anyway).

Maybe she thought he was cute and that was her version of foreplay.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. This momma seal was looking for a new mate and this NG photographer was The One. It's probably a really good thing for the photographer he left after 4 days otherwise he and this momma Leopard seal might have had a scene from the movie Deliverance. Does this goof balls mom know he's out by himself??

Great vid. We can learn from the animals. Just because we are a different color or physical shape from another being doesn't mean we can't be friends and respect one another.

Anybody think that maybe the seal was just trying to fatten him up before actually eating him? I mean maybe it was a very clever seal with forethought.

This reminds me that I've greatly enjoyed every magazine of National Geographic I've taken the time to read.

I'm hungry, I wish someone (or something) was trying to bring food to me. All kidding aside, very interesting and touching little story.

My dog brings me beer. Well, before she died she did. If she it did it now that would just be creepy. Cause you know, ghost dog.

How bout a delicious mauled penguin? I know a female leopard seal looking for a SWM. No smokers, please.

Couldn't hardly get the video to work but from what I've seen I think the guy was a dummy for getting into water with something that had teeth that big - not to mention how cold the water looked.
