    Arsonist!

My home place, St. Francois County, MO, has had seven homes burned in the past month. The last, this past Saturday, just a block from my own home. Whoever it is seems to target empty homes, and has gotten away clean so far.

I know this area. Someone will get shot before this is over.

And, the house next door to me is empty.

Good luck in keeping your home safe that has to be un-nerving .

All 7 were conclusive arson? Were they all vacant homes?

Sounds like you have a pyromaniac running loose.

    Be on your guard.

Hopefully the little firebug will get caught red-handed.

All vacant homes. All used "accelerants". Last one ( down the street ) used a fire bomb. Yeah, it's arson!

All the fire departments around here are volunteer. Some really professional people. I pray it doesn't turn out to be one of them.

    Yep. It's arson.

Keep your water hoses handy in case he sets the house next door on fire.

I witnessed my neighbor blow his house up. He was inside the house at the time. I was a key witness, since I placed him in the house. The other key piece of testimony was the fire marshal, who determined how he set the fire. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, which the firebug wasn't counting on. When I had the dispatcher on the phone, I told her to "hurry up" because the guy was in the house! She asked "what guy"? I said "the owner of the house"! I even told the dispatcher that the guy was kicking out a window, that he crawled out, and he's getting in his truck and leaving! I said "OMG, his house is on fire and he's LEAVING! Call the cops!"

    That's all it took.

The guy got 5 years in the pokey for 2nd degree arson.

I'm not sure how it works, but if these are bank owned homes could it be for insurance?

Maybe somebody's just trying to clean up the neighborhood.

Had a guy and his girlfriend on the Eastern Shore set something like 70 fires to vacant homes. He was a firefighter.

Had a copycat in my neighborhood set 3 before he was caught.

Substance abuse addictions, I can understand. I can even understand gambling addictions. Burning something down to collect on insurance money? Yah, I understand the motivation there too.

But what joy is there in burning down other people's stuff? That, I don't get.
