A Planned ?Million Muslim March? Set for Sept. 11, 2013 | Wizbang
I know Blitzberg said he is going as are a many bikers but there isn't any way I'd be near that place. A combo like mixing baking soda and vinegar, can't be good. This could screw up the prez speach.....that's the only good that can come out of it.

And Shepards we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, So that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command,
And we shall flow a river forth to Thee, And teeming with souls shall it ever be,
There were Muslims who died trying to rescue victims of 9/11. I know of one Muslim Marine that fought in Iraq and I am pretty sure there are others in Afghanistan not to mention other branches of our military. Then there are these guys(Some of the organizers of the march) Who have claimed that 9/11 was a Jewish conspiracy with a secret warning sent out to Jews to avoid the WTC. Often scum rises to the top or at least to attention.
This IS NOT an anti anybody thread. I'm just making a point that there are two groups that mostly oppose each others opinions and that it will be like mixing oil and water. Nothing more.
It's the fanatics that make religions bad, not the religions making the fanatics bad. And they all have their fanatics. If you can't accept their constitutional rights, why should anyone else accept yours?

I'm with you, Sister.
I'll stay far, far away from the maddening crowd.

I am not going anywhere near Wash. DC during that event . But i don't think any major problems will develope . Traffic problems , accidents , couple of arrests maybe for fighting . This all happens anyway when big crowds come to one place .
I think it will be a good idea to avoid DC on 9/11, things could be quite volatile.

The DC police have a lot of experience handling crowds and tamping down any problems before they get out of hand.
I doubt there will be much trouble, if any. The Muslims that are marching are probably the ones who are functional; not the raving, spittle flying jihadists we see on the news. Their beef seems to be that they feel discriminated against although I'd like to see concrete evidence of that...not just "feelings". If anything it seems as if Americans bend over backwards to make sure they are included and NOT discriminated against..

I always think its a good idea to avoid DC. Look at what it has done to our elected officials.

Constitutionally, they have the LIBERTY to march peacefully, The other groups have the LIBERTY protest peacefully.
IMHO. When a faction, of any religion, attempts to force their beliefs on someone through politics, this faction becomes a religious/political movement and violates the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Examples? Osama bin Laden and Pat Robertson. The difference between the two? One organized and succeeded with a direct violent attack on the United States. The other was stopped at the voting booths.

This thread makes me proud to be a member. It's members like these who remind me sometimes who we are as Americans. There are, probably the majority of muslim's who want a peacefull existance. I take my hat off to them. This is truely a great country that allows such a demonstration. I would support their right to peacefull demonstration.
Some years ago my own community demonstrated in the same place for the recognition of being equal men in the eye's on the law. That demonstration was morally true, and legally right. The demonstration was to illustrate injustice, and the denial of constitutionally guarentied rights. That demonstration anchored the UNIRED STATES of AMERICA as the moral anchor of the world. Despite what some racial arsonists may say... The United States showed the world how and why it's the greatest country in the world.
I have no idea why these people are having their million muslim march. None of their rights are being challanged, none of them are being threatened on a national level. They have enjoyed every right and priveledge afforded to any other American citizen, or guest in the U.S. I do take acception to them holding it on the one day we were attacked by people claiming their muslim religion as an excuse to murder several thousands of innocent Americans... Including Muslim Americans.
As a general rule, I avoid The Capital all together. I'm afraid some of the stench will rub off and follow me.

OK...n ow I stand corrected.. they want to have a million muslim march on ground zero... OK At this point I am insulted. When we make muslims drink out of seperate water fountains... then they have a beef. When we make muslims use seperate bathroom... then they have a beef/ When we force muslim children to attend seperate substandard schools...then they have a beef. When we allow employers to not hire muslims because of their religion... then they have a beef. When we charge poll taxes, or make tests in order for muslims to vote... then they have a beef. If the muslim community expects rights and priveliges other than those enumerated in the U.S. and states constitution, they better accept that it's not going to happen. I'm not saying that muslims have not been discriminated against. I've been discriminated against, my white friends have been discriminated against, as well as my hispanic friends... It happens... Deal with it.
