As I remember, that's about what I paid for my pewter Star Trek phaser from the Franklin Mint about 25 years ago.....

There were more real guns in Star Trek than were the futuristic ones:
Here is a detailed list of all firearms used in all of the Star Treks:
Guns (not phasers) in Star Trek

If I was a millionaire with lots of dough to blow, I'd have one. Yes, I have a total geek scifi side. I'd also have a full size Alien prop that would greet my husband when he came home from work and a TARDIS.

I am enough of a sci-fi geek to know what TARDIS stands for...
I'd rather be lucky than good any day

Next debate, which is more powerful?

Capt Kirk’s Phaser or Han Solo’s Blaster.

I can say, with certitude, that if I were a multi-Billionaire (with a "B"), I would not part with $231,000 for Kirk's phaser prop.

    It just ain't in me.

Nor would I pay $0.12 per round for .22 ammo, either.

Phaser. The phaser at its highest setting will vaporize someone. The blaster has been known to bounce off of heavily armored Storm Troopers. The phaser appears to be more accurate. Biggest problem is lack of an aiming device. But assuming there is no medium for the beam to go through, it is a pure LOS weapon. The blaster sometimes to go all over the place, and the richochetts could be deadly for a friendly.

A phaser can also be used as an explosive device (IED)if you set it on overload.

Only advantage a blaster seems to have is that to my knolwedge it does not run out of ammo. The phaser needs charging packs.

    Does that answer your question?

Let's see, a phaser can be set to blow up by itself. Must have been designed by the same company that brought you the load-n-blow XDS: Springfield Armory (in the future, of course).

Its still illegal in CA, Md, D.C., HI, IL, NJ and NY.........

So the Phaser runs on a power source. How many equilivent 'rounds' is that before it is empty?

Is a Phaser an Assualt Weapon by design?
