If you understand the mechanics of the vehicle, they are easy to be immobilized in a situation where they do not have more force protection of the same level. The MRAP is designed to protect the occupants in convoy or force, not as a standalone vehicle (they are designed to protect the occupants, not to be immobilized = easily defeated if encountered in just one or two formations without covering fire).... just saying.

A motivated and moderatly 'learned' and organized force, with basic 'tools', against a local PD/LEO employing one or two MRAP vehicle as a show of force, could easily kill the mobility of the vehicle(s), isolate the broad area and then overpower/reduce the occupants of the static vehicle(s). This has already been proven in our current areas of operations, OCONUS. Heck, this was proven in WWII.

They look awesome and are awesome for encountering a meth lab......or local Gang Banger house...to intimidate (visually)...... however........ As a standalone employed vehicle, they just trap the occupants when engaged. Ask the USSR for the previous Affy engagement stats on how many were killed in BMPs and other armored vehicles (not even employing surface based IEDs)............. Death traps against a trained opponent, if not covered by massive and effective reinforcements and overwatch.

These are far from being force projection vehicles or Tanks. They are also very exposed from the top since they are truly designed to defeat IEDs from the bottom and then the sides (RPG).
Socialism Kills! Time proven, with a very large body count! We are a Constitutional Republic....... not a Democracy, get it correct!

Well, campus cops are first responders:

"Said Campus Police Chief Paul Denton at the time, “We pride ourselves on being self-sufficient from local authorities. Frankly, we have to be. We are the primary responder."

I guess if there are any IED's over near the cafeteria, they will be ready.

Police have had armored vehicles for a long time. These agencies are just being smart with their money since they can get them basically for free. My city just spent hundreds of thousands last year for something similar but not mil-surp.

Or....maybe they are coming to get you guys....better go check your windows and doors!

There's an NSA golf cart that tours my neighbourhood too. The agent dresses like an older lady to try to fool people. He/She also is usually carrying 2-3 children onboard to deter civilian attacks. As they pass the agent often makes some sort of open-palmed hand gesture to anyone they encounter, shaking it around in the air as if to signal some sort of coded message to their hidden colleagues that are no doubt concealed amongst the bushes and apple trees, binoculars in hand, observing everything keenly. I always make the same hand signal back in the hope that they will think I'm one of them. I think it's working so far...

    They're watching us!

    Captains log, October 1, 2013:

Once again they have been observed walking among us, using small children for cover. They stop at nothing. Many of our citizens have been seen interacting, unknowing of the danger that may befall them. Reports of open palm signals abound.
We see dark, dark days ahead.

We need these MRAPs in our elementary schools...we have to put a stop to all the imaginary guns that the children are dreaming up in their heads when they play Cops and Robbers. If we don't put a stop to this soon, there will be imaginary guns on every street in the kingdom...I mean country.
