Who comes up with the names for new residential communities?!

Been doing a little house hunting of late. I'm trying to figure out who comes up with the names for residential communities? Really, can they not do better than, "The Cottages at Misty Meadows", or, "Pixie Dust Plantation",or, "Prancing Elf Estates"?

Why not "The Vaults at Nuclear Holocaust", or, if on the coast, "The Bunkers of Category 5", or, if in the midwest, "The Estates of F5 Storm Cellars", or, if the city, "Panic Room Condominiums"? Just sayin...

And then there are the street names...

I used to be in construction and land development.

I've built several subdivisions and had to come up with names for the new development and street names.

"Patti Lane" has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
