FireHouse Door & Plaque Honoring their Dead in 9/11 - + "THE CROSS: GROUND ZERO"

From a photographic site of mine on another Thread (http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/...phic-site.html)
    ------------------------------------------
First: Here's the aftermath of a real fire - "The Hose Line":

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Two moving sights I took a photo of: this is Fire Company on 8th Avenue near 50th St, Mid-Town; They lost more men I believe than any other company. Here's how they honor them to this day: when the firehouse door is closed this is what's on it:

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And near the door on the side of the building:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And then, taken by a dear friend that last time I was to see him. (He died of brain cancer - 34 - wife and 3 young kids left. back home in Poland where I had become friends with him and his family.)

THIS IS HIS. "TO Pavel. Peace my friend":

    "THE CROSS: GROUND ZERO"

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

And a last of mine of World Trade Center, both mine and Pavel's way, way before it was a monument, designed and built
(notice the Flag, all the way to left - and the people also to the left to give you a sense of scale to the enormity of what they see).

    "GROUND ZERO"

Great photographs! Reading the names on the plaque is really sad. Too many good people lost to sheer evil.

The standing iron cross gives me chills...it's so inspiring and meaningful (to me anyway).

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

That Cross is the most breath taking and piercingly sad image when first seen - it is huge -the beams of the World Trade Center the "wood" of the cross.
The body, sacred to so many, just removed....in its Christian association.
