Nice buck. Congrats. Used to bow hunt avidly. Took quite a few of em. Its a lot harder to get within 30 yards of one than 2 or 3 hundred LOL.

Cant do it anymore back wont let me pull a bow to shoot enough arrows a day to keep my skills sharp with one so in the interest of the deer and clean kills I gave it up.

    Miss it though.

Very nice buck. My first bow season was last year and I am HOOKED. Last year I took a spike with an old proline compound bow that I bought for $100. This year I was going to buy a newer bow but just before season opened I messed up my rotator cuff. Now I can't hold a bow up much less draw one. Looks like I'm going to have to keep saving for a cross bow.

Congrats on putting some meat on the table he's going keep your family fed for a while

I hunted for years with a compound. Now hat I'm in my 40s I find that my vision just isn't what it used to be. I can still shoot my bow quite well but the handwriting is on the wall. I bought a crossbow this year and have been quite pleased with it. I still love my Mathews compound but in ten years I'll be 100% crossbow, I'm sure of it.

Check out these guys. I am very pleased with mine. The Warrior from Wicked Ridge Crossbows - Welcome To Wicked Ridge - Simply The Best Crossbows Under $500...Ever.

I paid $360 for mine and they are worth hundreds more. Get one if you can.

Being disabled I could use a crossbow during the entire bow season but Ive shot cross bow and its just not the same to me. I hunted with recurve for years then had to go a compound bow as my spine got worse and I was finally disabled. Ive shot a crossbow nothing wrong with them at all but they just arent the same to me personally. Im just weird I guess

God bless you for providing for your family, Sir! Nice! But, do not let this current Admin know that you can, since they will force you onto Deer Stamps!

Hey, Ghost... Timmy, was, I think, onto something with his suggestion of a crossbow. Me, I detest compound bows. I will never get past a recurve bow for traditional archery.

However, if you want to put meat on the table, during bow season, a MODERN crossbow is the way to go, and I think you could draw it. Not "He Man" Hercules style, but with the cranking, or drawing aids they now come with (you can add on).

I have a Ten Point crossbow, with "accu draw". Its not strenuous to cock that bow with the accudraw. I wouldnt even try it without it.

Btw, its the simpliest of devices. A cord on either side of the crossbow, with a hook on either end, and a handle on either side, on the opposite end of the hook. You put both hooks on the string, and pull both handles (running thru a pulley, I think), and you got a cocked bow.
