Talk me out of buying a Tablet!

I have been thinking about buying a tablet. I have looked at the Google Nextbook 8", the ASUS Memo pad 7", or anyother Android OS tablet. I have no real need. I have a laptop and iPhone. I have been a gadget guy for a long time though.

    ANy thoughts from tablet owners.

BTW: I will not get an iPad
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

I would suggest you get a full version Windows 8 tablet. That way you can run the OCAT System on it and use it to improve your shooting.

Lots of people have given up their laptops for tablets now. We won't because I like a PC.

I do have a Kindle Fire HD with 4G and it's really nice. The only thing is that it's a little big...I like the iPad mini size. This year Kindle came out with a iPad sized Fire with 4G with exceptional visuals that has gotten really good reviews. If I already didn't have so many Kindles, I'd get it.

I took an Android. It took almost a quart of water to swallow it.

I would go with the Nextbook.

No help here. I didn't buy an iPad until I found one for $300, and even then I was worried I wouldn't use it enough. I now use it roughly ten times more often than my pc. Guess what I'm typing on right now?

I don't know much about the androids. Apple is my caliber of choice, though I do own a Nook 10" HD.

I am a gadget guy as well. No real need for a tablet here as well. BUT, I will admit to owning a iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone (no preference for Apple, just how it worked out). I also own 4 desktops and 3 laptops.

Basically, if I need to do "serious" work, it will be on the PC or laptop. The others are more for temporary amusement when traveling. I find that a barely use the ipad unless it is to stream a movie from my PC (I use Plex Media Server for that) or maybe look at Facebook. If I were looking for something to "work" on in the tablet range it would almost certainly be the Windows Surface Pro. Then again that is not much handier than carrying a laptop IMO.

Just the same, If I did not have a tablet and wanted one, I would have one.

buy a small lap top or net book, key boards are crucial. think pads have the best keyboards among any lap top, i prefer the classic key board layout with blue "enter" but the new style feels just as good IMO. Laptops, Notebooks & Netbooks - Laptops For Those Who Do | Lenovo | US the thinkpads have the a very solid construction.
