    Hate to say it but I have thought of doing the same thing with my wide screen projection TV! It backs up to a closet.

    Hmm...coincidentally, my wife and I are at an impasse...she wants a flat screen...I want a new gun (either P239/.40 or Browning Buckmark)....this just might fit the bill!

    Custom AV is part of what I do for a living, so I have done these things for years.

    A lot of the weight of your type of big-screen is at the back. I hope you have unseen support back there. You don't want to have a structural problem with your set, even if it's just an alignment problem.

    For me that reads "I don't want a client to have an expensive problem with the gear because of the details of my install"!

    Great job, BTW, in concept. Garages, large closets, untility areas and chases can give you a lot of new space.
