Broncos right cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed this morning after leaving a nightclub near 11th and Grant in a limousine. The team confirmed the death of Williams.
A female passenger also was shot, according to a source familiar with Williams.
Williams was 24.
"I learned from the Denver Police Deprtment that this incident has occured," Williams' agent, Jeff Griffin said early Monday morning. "No other details have been released. I sincerely offer my condolences and feelings to his family."
Williams was the Broncos' starting right cornerback and played his final game for the team in a 26-23 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers that eliminated Denver from the playoffs on New Year's Eve.

I was going to say... and I thought Philly fans were tough on their teams.
I would think there is more to this story.
Condolences to his family.

heres some more on it:
Broncos coaches said Monday the incident may have begun at a bar where Williams and Broncos receiver Javon Walker got into an argument with some bar patrons, reports Reggie Rivers of KCNC-TV, the CBS-owned station in Denver.
The Broncos players left the bar and drove away in a limousine, and may have been followed by the gunmen, the coaches said. Police have not confirmed these reports.

And here's a link that will make your blood boil.....
In none of the reports I have read on this so far have I seen a report stating that there was a gun racing away from the scene on it's own two feet...

Early this morning, NBC had a segment on their early edition of which Moses Malone was spouting off that guns are no good, there's no need to be on the streets at 3:00 a.m., etc. Ho hum.

My condolences to his family.
He was a local high school star here in FW. He attended O.D. Wyatt HS. Otherwise know as gangbanger central. Very rough school and neighborhood. Funny thing is I have been in OD Wyatt several times and was always treated with respect and courtesy, more so by the students than the staff.
Maybe it's just not knowing what to do with all that money or maybe it's just a case of not being able to take the "hood" out of the boy. Either way it's always sad to see that sort of thing.

My condolences to the Williams family and friends. Like my momma always told me, "Nothing good ever happens after midnight on the streets."

There Was A Fox News Interview...
with a couple of relatives.
The news had nothing but good things to say about the victim, but the interviews with a couple of cousins left me thinking...'a couple of thug wannabees...'
During the interview the 'lights appeared to be on...but no one seemed to be home'...
