"In an hour-long procedure, a veterinary surgeon transformed the furry feline into an elite spy, implanting a microphone in her ear canal and a small radio transmitter at the base of her skull, and weaving a thin wire antenna into her long gray-and-white fur. The goal was to transform the female feline into a living, walking surveillance machine. For its first official test, CIA staffers drove Acoustic Kitty to the park and tasked it with capturing the conversation of two men sitting on a bench. Instead, the cat wandered into the street, where it was promptly squashed by a taxi."

Well, back to the drawing board on that one.

Thanks for posting and a good laugh I have seen some of those on the History and the Military channels. There was also the pigeon guided bomb but it never got off the ground.

The suicide dog-bombers was disturbing, but this observation made me feel a little better:

"Another serious training mistake was revealed later; the Soviets used their own diesel-engine tanks to train the dogs rather than German tanks which had gasoline engines. As the dogs relied on their acute sense of smell, the dogs sought out familiar Soviet tanks instead of strange-smelling German tanks."

I once had a fine-looking Scottish Terrier who understood his JOB to be; getting petted by the cutest girl on the beach and then REFUSING to come to me when I called. He was the best, most effective wingman I ever had.

It was pretty cool I thought. It was known as the Harmonica gun.

The Puckle gun was cool too. Developed I thought during The Revolutionary War. Who could know even way back then we would have trouble with the muslims.
