If this is the case I think it is, then it has been going on for sometime.
The County Sheriff is a retired legal guy who knows the constitution better then most judges.
One year the rancher was off his ranch and BLM came in with cattle trucks and BLM security decked out like SWAT.
The Sheriff showed up with a bunch of deputies and disarmed the Federal Agents and forced them to release the cattle then vacate the property. Something about the 4th Amendment..
This has a been a multi year back and forth and everytime BLM pumps it up a notch.
They have cost this guy hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and travel.
I see the Sheriff was not mentioned in this article and wonder if he has been removed from office?

After living near Ruby Ridge when that occurred, I wouldn't compare this to that standoff. More like Waco.

BLM has been a thorn in a lot of peoples butt and Nv. folks have had many a run in with them. It seems they have outgrown there britches and I do not want to see anyone get hurt because of misinterpretation and they do like to flex there muscle especially if no one is watching close.

This was on Fox News last night. A special program called "Enemy of the State". I did not get to see it all, but if it is the same groups of people, a judge ruled in favor of the rancher and made the BLM pay some god awful amount of money to the rancher. Which, of course, the BLM appealed and it is still in the courts. Not sure if it the same people or not.the

Good story, but - NOT armed self-defense. Moved to off-topic.

There is the real problem, government land grab using the Endangered Species Act to deprive someone the use of their land.
A Ruby Ridge-style standoff is brewing in Nevada, where dozens of armed federal agents are closing in on cattle rancher Cliven Bundy over claims that Bundy has allowed his cows to graze illegally on government land, endangering a protected species of tortoise

"New" Police State?
This country was founded on land seizures and the forced migration of indigenous populations. This isn't new, just more of the same.

I for one hopes the rancher prevails.
Firing a suppressed is on my Bucket List.
I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.

I saw the same show, txron, and yes, the son of the rancher has taken on the Government over this. I hope he wins big time because many of these "agencies" are out of control and need to be reigned in.

It might wind up looking more like Lexington than Ruby Ridge.
The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see.

All over a desert tortoise?? I wish Mr. Bundy the best of luck. Keep your powder dry Cliven.
