Guess I will address this because no one else is going to.

I carry a cell phone because a gun is too heavy. -- Never heard this statement ever used.
When seconds count, the police are only a few minutes away. -- This is used by pro-gun folks, not anti-gun folks.
What do I have to be paranoid about? I have a superior intellect. -- Never heard this said either.
Guns kill people. -- A factual statement.
I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. -- This statement doesn't even make sense.
I’d rather need it and not have it than have it and not need it. -- Never heard them say this either.
All guns are full-auto AK-47 machine guns. -- Nope again.
I don’t own a gun to keep from being killed. -- More made up stuff.
I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate. -- Come on folks.
I don’t own a gun because guns scare people. -- Nope again.
Common sense gun laws. -- This they say all of the time and is the scariest thing they do.
I don’t own a gun because it would make me feel like a man. -- More absurdity.
If your gun doesn’t kill people then it must be broken. -- Now there are not even trying.
I’d rather someone get raped than have a gun in their purse. -- Never heard this one but possible by some.
Gun Show loophole. -- Said all the freakin' time.
I don’t own a gun for the same reason that I don't wear my seat belt. -- <sigh>
Guns are the leading cause of death in America. -- Haven't heard them say this one, but possible.
My car has never killed anyone. -- Nope.
    I don’t own a gun because I am not a racist. -- No again.
    Kumbaya. -- Possible, but unlikely.
You can buy a grenade at a gun shop. -- Not likely
If we banned all guns there would be no murder. -- Never said this either.
Guns kill more people than everything else combined. -- why?
I don’t carry a gun because sometimes I’m kinda in a scary place. -- Almost true.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world. -- Never said
The NRA writes our laws. -- This they do say.
I don’t carry a gun for the greater public good. -- Yup.
Gun owners are violent. -- Yes, this does get said.
I don’t own a gun because there are no limitations to government. -- No once again.
Only the police and the military should have guns. -- It is very scary but this has been said.
Guns are designed to kill. -- It is a factual statement.
    I don’t carry a gun because I hate cowboys. -- Nope.
Shoulder thingy that goes up. -- No idea here.
America has more murders than all other countries combined. -- No
If a child even sees the image of a gun he will die. -- Come on.
If we put up this gun free zone sign then no one will ever get killed. -- No again.
I don’t carry a gun because the police will protect me. -- Some do believe this.
The second amendment is antiquated and the constitution is a living document anyway and is open for interpretation. -- Sadly Yes, but a lot of people believe that.

You don't win an argument by disparaging your opponent which is what this tries (poorly) to do. You win by proven that your opponent is WRONG.

I was attempting to get one lady to "repent" on her anti gun stand. When she made the statement "Guns are horrible things. If someone were killing my child, I would not shoot them".

I figured that further discussion was futile and the lady would remain "lost" forever. Some things are not worth wasting time on.

Have a good friend who says she gets sick to her stomach and feels ill when in the presence of guns

She also told me once at our house that in an emergency she can dial 911 from her cellphone.. I asked her to try because we don't have cell service at the house

Some folks you just can help.. BTW her teenage son likes going with me to hunt and wants to get his hunting license but she won't let him.

Most of my family is either anti or has no opinion one way or another. They know I carry and they are smart enough not to make an issue of it. None carry except me and I've learned it's futile to try to change someone. You can reason to a point but if reason becomes an argument you lose more than the argument. To a stranger who wants me to explain why I carry, I use the old Harley adage...... If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand.

Thumbs up A shot gun for each home.

I have heard that some small town in Texas has made it mandatory for every Resdience to have a loaded shot gun accessible for home protection. Results of this has ended home intrusions and burglary. hmmm wonder why.

I'm with OutWest on this one. A more accurate title would be "Stupid Things A Gun Blogger Says".

My IN-LAWS are in the Boston area. 1 of the wife's brothers owns 1 gun. The rest of her siblings have little to do with their "Radical subversive brother" They are anti-gun "Boston Strong we don't need guns, the government will protect us", but have never mentioned anything to me about my pro-gun stance. Their perception of me is sitting on the porch in a rocking chair, overalls with one gallus unbuttoned, a 12 double barrel in hand with a redbone hound at my side. I get the feeling that they look at most pro 2A folks this way.

We have had a visit from her pro-2A brother, but no visits from the other 4 siblings. I prefer to keep this perception..

Get a pair of gum boots to go with those coveralls, and we can get our own reality TV show.
