    Good comebacks for sheep

I was thinking today about all of the really good signatures I see from our members here.

I really enjoy the one comebacks for sheep when they ask why you carry. You know.... " Why do you have a gun? You afraid some one is going to get you?" "No I have a gun... why would I be worried?"

So let's hear them. Anybody got any good comebacks for the old question "Why do you carry a gun... you scared?"

I'm looking for funny stuff here.

    "Because I can't legally carry a cop."

I used that a few days ago at the store. lol

Usually I end up asking the questions. Like with the hippy I encounted at the gas station last winter.

Allow me to set the stage:

I was going to work one morning and had my gun OC. I stopped off to a local gas station for a cup of coffee and some tobaccoo. As I walked in I saw that the store was unusually crowded this morning, but nothing out of the ordinary.

As I was standing in line some guy looked at me and asked (in an almost paniced voice) "What are you doing with that gun?!" I calmly turned to him and replied, "Just taking it for a walk."

The clerk and a rather cute blonde both snickered. The rest of the patrons looked at me and then the guy and went on about their business as if nothing happened.

    Isn't that gun dangerous?

Why yes, and I wouldn't carry it if it wasn't!

When I was in high school my mom did some baby sitting for a couple of kids. One of the kids was always asking questions of my dad. One day the kid asked my dad why something was like the way it was.

My dad reponded "To make you ask questions, and it worked again." The kid was a little flabbergasted didn't ask any questions for two days.

Because the only obligations the police have to me is to show up afterwards and draw a chalk outline around my body.

Optimistic Paranoid gave me an idea,

Because I'm alergic to the chalk Police use to outline the dead.

"Because more guns equals less crime, do you know how to get a Carry Permit?
I can help you find a good instructor if you'd like."

I've said this to a handful of people, the conversation ended with them deciding to take the class.

This sounds like the best reply of the ones in this thread. I think that I will use it.
