We just got back today, and I am completely and utterly exhausted.
It was good to meet you K-Man, and finally put a face to a name!
srfl,
That's quite a list, now I have nothing much to add
other than...
MY HUSBAND GOT FREE FIRE-RETARDANT UNDERWEAR!
The Cutting Edge Tactical guys gave it to him, mentioning something about the soldiers in Iraq and IEDs. So if my husband ever steps on an IED, his underwear will survive the blast!
From the Maglula guys we got two of their "upLULAs" - their new universal pistol mag loaders (new item not released yet) and an AR mag loader.
My husband really wants an FN P90. I told him I'd buy him an Airsoft version. Since we can't afford the real thing, I did grab a nice pewter key fob that was in the shape of one, which should pacify him for now.
While I was waiting in a long line to have my picture taken with somebody who may be familiar to all of you, I run into srfl. Nice to finally meet you!
Here's what I waited in line for:

Betty, Don't you know that hanging out with Marines will just get you in trouble?
Glad you had fun!

Ole R. Lee is a great guy. Met him on Oahu and when he found out my buddy and I were Marines he talked to us for at least 10 minutes while there were probably 60 people in line waiting for autographs.

I'm jealous! What do you have to do to go to the Show?

Perhaps he could put those to better use by wearing them inside out.
Sounds like a good time, Mr. Ermey is a legend, I would have waited in line too!

Be in the firearms/outdoors/security industries, press/periodicals, and/or be an LEO or in the military.

Wow looks like fun and long days. But you might get to meet Gunny!

I met him during the 2006 SHOT Show....got lucky that time and went to the Glock dinner.....not this time...bummer.
Oh another exceptional gun sighting:
Krebs Custom Russian American Armory Company (RAAC) Saiga-12: The Saiga-12 (and S-20 and S-410) are AK shotguns for those unfamiliar. Made by Izhmash in Russia and imported by RAAC, the S-12/20/410 are exceptional shotguns; if you know the operation of an AK-series rifle, then you know the operation of this shotgun....no different. Well, RAAC had one customized by AK guru Mark Krebs that is sweet. The Russians are in the process of trying to get their S-12C and S-12K ( http://club.guns.ru/eng/saiga12.htm ) in the country for possible LE sales. RAAC is trying to get someone in the U.S. to offer, as a regular stocking item, a similarly configured shotgun for the commercial side.....if they do, I want one to add to my S-12 collection!

Shot Show
More impressive than meeting "Gunny" is meeting SGM Cavainai. Myself and other team members had him sign our copy of "SOG" and were present for the Bill Harsey presentation of the "Yarborough" knife serial numbered #838. It was quite the moment and well photographed.
Just do not attempt to keep up with him at the Howl at the Moon Saloon..................you'll lose and your brain cells will be depleted until next years show.

I saw Jim Cirillo there, but didn't get to talk to him. He was standing right by the SWAT booth and was surrounded by a small crowd.
I missed Massad Ayoob by a hair. He was at the Sabre Defence booth, showing off the new Ayoob Elite model. You can buy your own for a mere $2,929.99 MSRP.

Betty...I went to the SWAT booth (saw Denny Hansen) and subscribed to the magazine for two years...for some reason, my local AFB stopped carrying the magazine.

The SWAT/GemTech/Valhalla party Saturday night was a fun time. I hung out with John Ross (Unintended Consequences) for about an hour. Lots of good people and GREAT hosts.

We didn't make it to the party. We were so exhausted that day we just went back to the hotel and ordered pizza.

Ross I would love to have an oppertunity to spend some time with , I have met Jim Cirillo some years ago at some training, as well as some of the luminairys of weaponcraft over the years . Its prob a good thing , but still saddens me to see folks like ayoob put thier name on weapons ( no he isnt the only one ) . Sign of the times i guess where our folks do endorsements .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

Bad srfl......another nice looking CZ-75 influenced design at SHOT was the ArmaLite AR-24 (full-size; 15+1 capacity) and AR-24K (compact-size; 13+1 capacity) in 9mm. It borrows from the French M1935A and Sig P210 (which was itself inspired by the M1935A) as well. It's a well made gun. They will be available with adjustable or fixed sights.

The C&S compact .45 I mentioned earlier in this thread is called the "45 ACP Pocket Model of 2006"...I misquoted its price...it's actually $7575.
The Para-Ordnance (PO) that is larger than the Carry Safe LDA 9C is called the Carry Safe LDA Companion 9C, product # CWX99RC. Again, it's not as short as the Carry Safe 9C but it shares the great DAO trigger.
