    Smile Our Enterprising Youth.

In Richardson, Texas, a State Trooper was running radar. He had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting any. Then he discovered the problem. A 12 year old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD!"
The officer later found a young accomplice down the road with a sign reading, "TIPS" and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

Well ya gotta make money somehow when you aren't old enough to work in most states. Here's another story for ya:

I have a friend who got caught going a fair bit over the speed limit on a country road. He got blue-lighted and when the cop walked up to his window he said "Boy, I have been waiting for you all day."

My friends reply "Well officer, I got here as fast as I could."

    He recieved a written warning.

BWAHAHAHA he is cutting into the profits of the police department, after all what other reason would you give a ticket for 1 MPH over for (yes the city does just that). I wonder what would happen if they followed the officer around doing that on a regular basis, arrest them for interfering with a police officer doing his duty?

Free speach and free enterprise. The kids are doing a great thing, keeping the speed down.

I'm pretty sure the "free speech" angle wouldn't fly, as the net effect of slowing those folks down (laudable!) is reduction of revenue for the PD. Interesting how some folks will tip a kid for the intel, but lie through their teeth to a cop. Cake-and-eat-it syndrome. Poor LEO must have been a bit surprised to get the big goose egg for an entire shift.

I deserved my last ticket. 74 in a 60. There was a middle age man in the defensive driver class that got one for 2mph over. Instructer asked if it was a school zone. No, 47 in a 45. Farm to market rd speed reduction section approaching city limit w/ a 40mph speed inside the city limit. Tiny town in Texas. I did not know where it was.
There are some speed traps out there. Good job kids.
    Carry 24-7 or guess right.
