    Story:
    http://www.thatscountry.com/am2/publ...2/002852.shtml

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Show Dog Nashville duo Rushlow Harris have released a new
single titled "Bagpipes Cryin'." The song, co-written by Tim Rushlow, is a
tribute to fallen soldiers and is adapted from a poem written by a Navy SEAL
    after a tragic battle.

"Sometimes it comes better from the tap," says the duo's Doni Harris. Tim
Rushlow adds, "There is no one who can explain the sound of bagpipes cryin'
better then those soldiers like Commander Mark Waddell and our grandfather
who have paid tribute to their friends who once stood beside them."

The poem was Waddell's reaction to a June 28, 2005 battle in the mountains
of Afghanistan. An MH-47 helicopter was shot down during the fight and 19
special forces troops and airmen were killed, including 11 SEALs. Waddell
was acting commander of East Coast SEAL operations at the time.

"I had three of the four guys on the ground that died that day," Waddell
said in a recent interview with radio station KATC/Colorado Springs. "I was
so heartbroken after I passed out all the flags at the memorial service. I
was just thinking about the bagpiper, who is also a retired SEAL captain,
standing there literally crying the song out of the bagpipes. We were all so
    sad.

"When I came home my wife said I should write down some words. Tim called me
and asked how I was doing. I told him I wrote this poem and he said well let
me have it. We went back and forth on the phone and decided to make it a
tribute to everyone from World War II to the present."

"Bagpipes Cryin'" won the on-air music test at KATC five nights in a row
before it was retired. The song dominated a similar music test at
KQFC/Boise. The early response from radio listeners indicates the impact
this authentically inspired tribute has on those who hear it.

Rushlow Harris is comprised of cousins Tim Rushlow and Doni Harris, who grew
up in a musical family and went on to country music success independently *
Tim with Little Texas and Doni with Lariat before joining forces. They are
currently finishing their debut album for Toby Keith's Show Dog Nashville
    label."

    Thank you

Thank you for posting this. It is very touching. I have two sons, one still in the army, one was in the marine corps. Both have been to Iraq at least once. Thank God they have both returned safe.

    Thanks, KenpoTex;
Brought tears to my eyes. I'll go to my grave with the faces of some brave souls who I lost in Viet Nam. Somehow this song makes it easier to bear. God Bless you for bringing this to us.
