New Shooters in the Family!
My 14 year old, Jennifer, has been shooting at the local Sportsman Association every Monday night for 2 years. Tonight her Grandma and Grandpa were over, so we all - including my wife, Ashlee and our 3 year old, Hannah - went to watch her shoot.
We are watching through the observation window and Hannah keeps yelling "my turn". Next thing you know, the instructor is digging out a Jr. size .22 rifle and some sandbags for some bench mount shooting! Hannah is just thrilled and Grandma is scared to death.
Hannah and I are set up and then I start loading the single shot rifle for her. Get it aimed in the general direction of the target and BANG - she starts sending them downrange. Hannah's giggling and having a ball, I am thrilled at starting another shooter in the family and Grandma is ... looking... interested. "Come on Grandma, you shoot!" Set her down at the bench, explain the sites and BANG - she starts sending them downrange too.
Now Grandma is ready to start driving into town every week to do more shooting (the instructor said that she could shoot with the kids).
By the way, Hannah told me that she shot 9 Bad Guys! :AR15firin
I feel safer all ready. :hand:

Bass, congrats, makes it so much easier when the whole family likes and takes interest in the same activities. Glad your girls have taken to it so willingly.

Aw, that's great.
My 4 year-old niece shows no interest in shooting, but at least she has basic safety skills down so she doesn't think they're playthings.

I got started shootin gthru a NRA program for kids. Much more fun thru High school to shoot diffrent events than play a school sport. Recently i got my 8 and 9 yr. old kids out to shoot. They are now asking for their own rifles.
