Exclamation Wanna Win BIG $$$$ JUST for being who YOU are?

ExSoldier's NOTE: I get these e-mails because I sometimes find leads from producers looking for the types of script I write. My agent recommended I register and since it's free, I did. But this site is more about passing along these kinds of opportunities as well as employment opportunities at ALL levels of the entertainment (read HOLLYWOOD) industry. I saw this one just now and I HAD to post it here! I knew the moment they said EXTREME views, there'd be something about guns somewhere on the list. Sure enough...while it's not #1....it's there. I considered registering as a good old AMERICAN PATRIOT but I thought about it and figured it'd be enough to have the school board in the district where I teach (ultra liberal) do something BAD to me. I'm too close to retirement to risk that. But I'll bet there's a young stud or studETTE (Ohhhhh BETTY!) who might take up this challenge and risk the label on national tv of RAMBO wannabe, Militia nut and potential racist....I mean if you risk this...that's the sad commentary of modern America on old fashioned VALUES. None of us fit any of the descriptions I've just mentioned. But that's how you'll be painted unless you're very careful and the game's not rigged in advance. They'd be risking a lot to do that these days.

ANYWAY....here's the e-mail in it's entirety as stipulated. My ONLY editing was to put certain areas in BOLD for emphasis to this group.

    Hi everyone,

My friend Andy is casting for a new show and is looking for all types with extreme views or extreme lifestyles, and there is big prize money!

As always, feel free to forward this if you know someone who would be interested.

Details are below - be sure to mention I sent you, and good luck!

A new show from the producers of THE WEAKEST LINK is conducting an extensive NATIONWIDE search for people (18 years+) with extreme views, extreme lifestyles and everything in between for a chance to win big bucks$$$$!!

Do you have strong opinions and are not afraid to stand up for your beliefs? Are you falsely judged by your appearance? Do others find you too conservative or too liberal? Are you an amazing judge of character?

    Death penalty
    Lesbian/Gay Marriages
    Gay Adoption
    Animal rights
    Global Warming

    1. Your Name
    2. Your Age

    4. A recent photograph
    5. A short bio including your type and beliefs

    About the show:
A new entertainment format in which 5 ordinary members of the public decide between them which 1 contestant is going to be given a large sum of money.

The 5 people hoping to be given the money do not have to answer any quiz questions or complete any challenges.

Instead, the panel of 5 will determine who gets the cash simply by hearing information about each contestant's life and deciding who they like the most.

They will hear all about each contestant's beliefs, family status, salary and occupation...they will also be shown photographs and interview the hopefuls which will all go towards building a case for each contestant to win the money.

However, there will be NO sob-stories - this is NOT about being the most DESERVING.

Instead, it's about the panel themselves and how they reveal their prejudices through their judgments....

You're on this e-mail list because I most likely met you somewhere, and you indicated you were interested in information I come across related to the entertainment industry, casting, events, parties, etc., or you registered at www.INFOLIST.com.

While I may fit one or more of these categories, I certainly wouldn't sign up. You know it's rigged to somehow twist the facts. It wouldn't be "entertainment" if they didn't do that. Sounds like the next non"reality" show that will hit the TV.

Sorry but according to the Founding Fathers I am not an extremist but a Patriot and an American. I am MAINSTREAM even if Hollyweird thinks otherwise.

Too bad Classic Liberalism is so misunderstood these days. Strict gun laws mean laws that are enacted in accord with the 2nd Amendment. WE are the real LIBERALS because we understand these EXTREMISTS put a little tension on the drum and make the world the give and take it's supposed to be. The extremists are dumbfounded we haven't opened up on 'em years ago. That's why they continue to push the envelope. With no basic principles or moral code, life becomes a childish game. Most of the members on this site feel like they'd be RISKING EVERYTHING by getting into their game. And they're absolutely right.

Sensationalistic stuff Jim as I see it - and that to titilate audiences who want ''wierd'' and freakshow type material, which is how I'll bet they'll spin a lot of stuff. I can see audiences as the typical jump-up-and-down game show variety.

Indeed ''risking everything'' may not be putting too fine a point in it, and I most certainly will gladly hang on to what little anonimity I have left!

    So just who doesn't qualify?

At one level or another, they're defining most of the population as extreme.

Maybe they mean "different from us" (the producers) instead of "extreme". But they are probably so narrow minded that they see no difference between "different from us" and "extreme".

And "extreme", as we all know, is deserving of scrutiny and ridicule (at least for a start).

Other people have thought like that, too. The National Socialist German Worker's Party, for one. The Ku Klux Klan for another.
