We were cruising in the artic and weather can be nasty up that way. On board are a detachment of marines, they guard the quarter deck and hang with the Old Man and Exec. Well, we were eating lunch and space between tables is tight, I was moving between 2 benches carrying my tray of something with gravey;the ship took one of those dives with a thud causing me to tilt the tray and dump gravey on the head of a Marine in dress blues. Expecting the worst the guy was calm and I got to eat with all my teeth intact.
Every so often a Marine on the Quarter deck would while changing of the guard doing the fancy stuff to show his .45 is really not loaded let one go into the overhead. Noisey but no damage.
As you slide down the banister of life,
May the splinters never point the wrong way.

Considering the gravy incident.... lucky it wasn’t your “overhead”
