I vote for yes, and I will help Bud Mod if he desires.

Yeah, but why drive into town if you have the goods right here?

The downside could be a gradual drifting away from the true intention of this sight where it gets to be more and more about guns and less about carrying them. As was mentioned prior, there's many fine forums for all your gun specific and 'smithing needs! My vote would be no.

Everyone should feel free to post gunsmithing related questions, comments, etc in the "General Firearms Discussion" area if you have something that you would like input on. I would like to keep the focus here on carrying concealed weapons but there are areas that cover most related topics.

The biggest reason I can think of is that most of the specialized forums (i.e., SIG, Glock, etc.) have their own. We couldn't start to give good coverage to everything out there.

Pretty much 45/55 right now - against. I'd not be bothered either way really but - do think that questions here certainly can be placed in general - plus as mentioned - many places do have specific smithing forums available.

It would be good to have a "smith" forum for nothing else but to have possible solutions to a problem before going to a real gunsmith. At least one might be able to describe the problem correctly to a gunsmith...that's usually a good start for them.

Honestly, I dabble in a bit of amatuer gunsmithing, and would like to get into more...I just need a helpful resource!

Voted No. As has been stated, there is the possibility of this forum drifting away from what it so admirably does right now.
