Get a good one (lawn mower) and it will last you many years. I made the mistake of buying a cheap one when we bought our first house and ended-up replacing it two years later. You definitely save money over the life of the lawn mower by buying quality. Have fun cutting your new lawn!

    Congratulations, Taurahe.

Mowing is part of the package - along with all the other joys of homeownership like hail damage, broken air conditioners, flooded basements, etc.

Congrats! There's a lot involved in owning a home, but it's so, so worth it.

Working on my third and hopefully last home purchase.

The one thing I have learned about home ownership is learn to do things like plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc. Those skills will come in most handy.

I have also learned after three "moves" you don't realize how much stuff you have until you move it. It seems to multiply like crazy.

Anyway, good luck on your home purchase. May it be a home of peace, safety, tranquility and a good old time.

Congrats on the new house, make sure you do the extended warranty on the lawn mower so no out of pocket expenses for awhile.

    Congrats! Lawn mowers? LOL!

Congratulations on your new home! It's so exciting to move into a new place, especially when it's all yours!
After a lot of years owning my own homes, I finally realized that not a whole lot in life will ever actually be all mine. When you pay property taxes year after year you'll realize this. If you don't pay the government someone else can legally buy it out from under you. What a scam right? You're just pretty much leasing state property the way I see it. My bad for bringing up reality.
