    Rollergirls.

    My wife.
Oh dear, what can I say about my wife?
Well, for a start she's 12 years my junior. I'm hitting 40 this year, I recently gave up mountain biking due to knee pain (and her insistence). She's always been the sensible one, she earns far more than I do, pays the bills and wipes my nose. I'm sure she only keeps me around because I tell funny jokes.
Anyway, so she's the sensible business woman? Yeah, and she's a budding roller derby girl.
There's a whole scene springing up nationwide, lots of teams and lots of leagues. We went to a local contest and she was hooked. She had figure skated as a kid and still had the moves so she went for tryouts, she's in.
My sedate wife who travels the country as a lobbyist is a rollergirl. I'm so proud.
The girls are all ages, 20 through to 30's. I assumed they would all be art students and barristas but they are as diverse as research technicians and mom's. They are a cool bunch.

They all have to pick a fake name, something with attitude.
Like 'Meanie Pearl', or 'Carmen Geddit', there's even an 'Ellen Degenerate'.

So my wife needs a name, we chose 'Tripper Gore', it's a good local in-joke and plays with her tripping people up.
But someone else has a very similar name so we might not get it.

If you had to pick a rollergirl name for someone what would you pick?
If you pick a really good one and it's not already on THIS LIST then we might even use it, if you don't mind.

Oh, and If it comes to your town then go along, it's an amazing atmosphere.

I checked out that list. I didn't see "Misery."

Of course, I usually have a hard enough time thinking of names to use on forums like this one. I just recently joined TFL under "Caustic" but that was an old nickname given to me by one of my college profs because of rather "challenging" comments I made during class.

Nicknames I have bestowed onto some of my women friends over the years, for example, have been "Joansie" for one and "Badly" for another (the latter nickname was for how well she understood my jokes when really tired.)

That's funny, we actually had 'Miss Terri' on our shortlist, and that was the world's longest shortlist.

I can't tell you what I used to call my old girlfriends, partly because I forget a lot of them and partly because I don't want to risk invoking bad demons.

I worked a couple of security details at rollergirls events.... Interesting hobby to say the least. It was suprising to see what the field was made up of. School teachers, Docs, housewives, you name it they were there.

Our shortlist presently is President Evil and Tripper Gore.
Tripper is best but there's a girl in MA who has Tip Her Gore, if you choose a name similar to someone else you have to ask their permission, we have and we're waiting.
Of course my suggestion of Cupid Stunt didn't get over the second hurdle, she loved it but didn't think anyone else would.
