Well, we got our doggie Saturday.
She was already named Tanner and she's around 2 years old. She's a mutt something-or-other. Welsh Corgi? Basenji? Canaan dog? Lab? I guess we'll never know for sure. Somebody left her overnight at the drop box at an animal shelter.
Her foster humans found her there, and I found her online.
She's around 20 pounds, big pointy ears, half-curled tail, very alert. She's a sucker for belly rubs, appears to already be house trained, and has yet to put her mouth on anything she's not supposed to. She's good with other dogs, half aloof and half playful, and has not acted hostile towards people so far. She does growl and bark when someone's at the door.
She's used to sleeping on the bed (something we're going to break). She's already spent several hours alone in restricted areas, and has not torn up anything. She is, however, doing a fantastic job tearing up her stuffed ostrich toy.

Looks like a corgi mix to me. She looks like a cool dog, and a ball of fire when she wants to be.

Tanner looks wonderful! Great find, Betty. (Looks like she found you, though.)
Enjoy the newfound friend. The times will be priceless.

Betty got a email from Tanner, saying the spiders were tasty.

Cute Pooch...
I'd say you just got a 'burglar alarm' you can pet...
Good Luck with the new pooch...

I am telling you that the Boston Terrior is the best dog in the size and hair length you are asking for. I have two of them and they are awesome. More like a part of the family than dogs.

They are part of the family
Betty, Congrats on the dog. I always donated to our local shelter since I've been in this area, they're a no kill shelter and they actually play with and care about the dogs.
Doodles is my first shelter dog and every bit as good as the others and I love him just as much.
I'm certain you and your pup will have many happy years together, just try not to get mad at him, sometimes they are very much like a small child.
