Hahaha - yes it is!!!
Well as ever good to see Tom doing his trick stuff but that punt gun - something else!!!
These are 3 to 4 feet long and I guess in equivalent terms 0 gauge I reckon in a boat, well stapped down - one of those will take out a whole darned flock of ducks!
A buddy of mine had a 4 Gauge BP - and that when stoked up and with a quarter ounce of shot - nearly put him on his back .... but by comparison that was small LOL!
These tho are real BIG guns

I need one of those for my primary carry. Can anybody make a holster so that I can carry that concealed?
Friendship... is not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.
Tom Knapp is cool. Now that man can handle a shotgun.

Punt guns were typically mounted on boats and used to take large numbers of birds on waterways. Back in the day when there were enough birds to make something like that an effective tool to harvest large numbers of birds. The ones I've researched some were used on the Chesapeake Bay.

I can build a holster for that. I just need a BIG cow.

I am a Plankowner (Re-commissioning crew member) on USS Wisconsin, BB-64. Specifically, I was an FC3 when on board the Wiskey. I worked in Spot one, the forward main battery gun director and I have fired the 16 inch guns more than 30 times. It is quite a rush I will tell you. And very, very fun!
The USS Wisconsin Association (www.usswisconsin.org) will be holding its next crew member reunion in September of next year on board the sip, which is now a museum in down town Norfolk VA.
I'll be there and I can't wait to see Her again.
By the way, if you go to the Wisconsin Association website, click the pictures link and then the 80's / 90's link, on page one of those pics about half way down you will see 3 or 4 pictures I sent in of the ship in dry dock in Philly.
Saw one of the punt guns at the museum on Tybee Island, Georgia. Very cool to see one fired!

Wouldn't you get in trouble in court for using such a big gun?
