I am very saddened to learn today that comedian Richard Jeni (apparently) took his own life.
News reports say that he was found by his girlfriend having shot himself in the face. Found gravely wounded, he died later at a hospital.
Rest in peace, Mr. Jeni. You brought me a lot of laughter because you were phenomenally good at your craft. I will miss you.

I really liked that guy...he WAS really funny! He had money...so I guess money isn't the answer...is it?

Well, let's wait to hear what an investigation says. I got suspicious right away, when they said that his girlfriend called and said he'd shot himself. Do people who want to commit suicide shoot themselves in the FACE? What if it was made to look like a suicide.
I don't want to sound like a crackpot conspiracy theorist, but I'll wait before I draw solid conclusions about this one.
In the meantime, we certainly did lose a very funny comedian.

Well, I clicked on the link accompanying the story and I gotta say... he really didn't look well. Perhaps he was ill??

I first learned of this on last night's Tonight Show, when Jay Leno mentioned that he had passed (but not how) and did a brief memorial statement. Mr. Jeni was indeed a fine comedian, and I always enjoyed his comedy routines whenever I saw them. The gift of laughter is precious indeed. Whatever happened, and however he died...rest in peace, Mr. Jeni.
Sad - but more info on lead-up and circumstances would help flesh out the details.
OK - I am a bit skeptical - yet! I wonder - was he ill with the Big ''C''.

I was also saddened by this news. He was one of my favorite comedians.
One of the guys I work with also liked his stuff. We often will say something that we herd Richard Jeni say in one of his acts and laughing about it.
Rest in Peace Richard.
