A thread to THANK all of our veterans - God bless you ALL!

Hi Everybody! :wave:

I don't know if there is a similiar thread out there or not, but I figured even if this is an 'unintentional repeat' that it can't be said often enough....

I know that there are many veterans on this site and I just wanted to give a sincere THANK YOU to each and every one of you. :smile:

I just thought that it'd be a great idea to start a thread expressing my thoughts and would LOVE to see this be one of the LONGEST threads on CC.

You guys and gals sacrificed and paid a hefty price for the peace and freedoms that I enjoy living in this great country of ours and you definitely can't be thanked enough for your service. :king:

Missed Vietnam with a #347 in 1966...but decided to join later...

I am an aging ''import'' tho now a proud American ..... I have known many guys in the mil' both back in UK and also a few here. They have as always had my utmost respect and altho I did not serve fully I am passionate about these dear people.

We owe them so much - back in history and to the present day. I share the grief of families who lose their young folks and give thanks for what all those who serve do for us back home. The reasons may be up for debate but never ever let that diminish our support.

We owe them a debt of gratitude that can hardly be repaid but the very least we can do is give them all the support and respect they deserve.

It may be a repeat, BUT there are somethings that we just can't express enough whether it's buying a steak for a vet, writting a letter concerning the VA (even before the recent dust up and afterwards), or just saying thanks.

I know that words and deeds will never convey how much I appriciate all of those of us that are willing to leave their family and putting their lives on the line.

USAF,MAY63 TO MAY67.Would do it again if my country needed me,but they need young men,not old codgers like me. sj

I am the luckiest woman alive in that I get to kiss my veteran every night and tell him how proud and thankful I am of his service. If he wanted to go back tomorrow I would stand tall behind him and send him off with a tear in my eye, a smile on my face and love, pride and devotion in my heart.

I served from 2000-2004 as a USAF combat medic. Our guys on the streets of Iraq need our prayers. I can't tell you how many times I died in training exercises where we were taking streets and neighborhoods, (MOUT Facility). What these heroes are doing is extremely dangerous. Their courage to get up and fulfill their mission every day is enough to make me proud to be an American all by itself! Thanks to all of our veterans, past and present.

I joined for the experience, not for the thanks. What I got for an experience far outweighs that which I have done since being civilian again. Had I listened to the old salt that told me that "If Uncle Sam didn't pack it in your seabag, you don't need it.", I would very likely still be in.

I would again in a minute...if my wife would let me.
