    Speed bump shoots man

Now I know that speed bump can not actually shoot someone, but that seems to be how the media is treating this incident

WEST CHESTER TWP. - A Sunday night shooting may have been a bizarre accident, police said today.

David Larkin, 37, of Hamilton, has told police he pulled out of a business on Crescentville Drive shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday and hit a speed bump, which accidentally discharged a loaded pellet gun in the front of his car, said Sgt. Steve Oakes, spokesman for the West Chester Police Department.

Larkin was shot in the stomach but managed to turn onto Ohio 747 and pulled into a Thornton's gas station for help, Oakes said.

Larkin is listed in fair condition today at Bethesda North Hospital.

The incident remains under investigation but police said there is no indication a crime was committed.
This was a couple of miles from where those youngs idiots shot the cops last week, so it made big news when it first surfaced, because it was basically just "Man shot in West Chester" without any details.

Has to be more to the story than a pellet gun sitting on the seat and went off on a speed bump. He obviously has good muzzle contol to, you know, since it was pointed at him while laying there.

I'm thinking it was a pretty slow newsday for a pellet gun shooting to make the paper.

musta been one hell of a pellet gun to leave him in the hospital. When I was a wee little kid us kids used to shoot each other with them all the time.

Somehow I think that alcohol was involved in this.

He was lucky that it wasn't the real thing. He must not have known anything about guns. Don't knock pellet guns. I have one that will penetrate both sides of a metal garbage can.
