Shucks - that's one heck of a long list!!

Thx for the info tho - seems this is a more far reaching problem than initially thought.

Notice IAMS & Eukanuba are on the list. All that garbage made by the same place and stuck into different brand packages.

I'm glad I started buying my dogs food at petmeds.com.

Her skin is so much better now that I switched to to AZMIRA.

No animal by-products, additives, or preservatives.

Slightly expensive BUT, you feed less food so it balances out somewhat.

My boys got fish tonight, too. They were very happy. I was reading some cat thing that says that if you REALLY love your cats you would feed them what they would eat in the wild.. i.e. crickets, grasshoppers, mice and so forth. You would chop it all up for them and serve it up.

I think I could handle chopping up a cricket or grasshopper, but they'd have to kill the mice themselves. I won't stop my cats from getting a meal, but they're going to have to kill it and cut it themselves. That's just a TAD over the line for me and the love of my pets.

So, it's Meow Mix for them with a quick can of Fancy Feast every great blue moon or two.

The reality is that the pet food companies do not care very much about your animals. I saw it and smelled for myself back when I used to shoot river rats for the meat processing plant on Neville Island.
We got paid a dollar a tail for rat tails.
The rats were as big as small cats.
The rotted biological garbage and carcasses and 55 gallon drums of rancid animal grease/fat destined for dog food.
I'm suprised the rats even wanted it.
They sure did not care much back then what went into dog food.
It was terrible seeing first hand that absolute polluted organic "waste animal crap" that no family pet should have live on.

The toxic agent found in the contaminated pet food was Rat poison.

    Canada actually.

Supposedly a million or so packages and cans made it through "inspection" - What Inspection would that be?

I can almost guarantee that no pet food ever gets seriously inspected or quality control checked.

I thought I hard on ABC news tonight that it was traced to gluten imported from China. Although with the day I had hearing things wouldn't be out of the question.
